Arms of Love

Dancing we can find the freedom and space to take attentive care of our arms. If the body is a network of various connective tissues and bones, the shoulder girdle  and the arms must be seen as an integrated part of the whole. Even if only a part of  the whole, they play critical and specific roles. They can serve as a stable support and  at the same time they can recycle the kinetic energy they produce or receive. Using improvisation and short movement phrases we will play with the connection  between the arms, shoulder girdle and torso by exploring the following question:  Which alignment is favorable for the effective transmission of energy from the arms  to the whole body and vice versa?
